Negari Luwak Coffee Agrotourism and Balinesse House, Bali Indonesia
First thing in the morning, of course, coffee!!!. As most of us are coffee lovers, Negari Luwak Coffee Agrotourism is our first itinerary on our last day in Bali.
We had a tour by lovely ladies. They showed us what they had and how they process the Luwak coffee. Believe me, I got stunned when I heard that the Luwak coffee is made of Luwak's poopy. I will tell you how they make it. LOL
Oh, one more thing, this is my first time to see a tree of coffee, vanilla, nutmeg and other spices that were grown in their area. This place is like a mini zoo, farm, cafe and a gift shop rolled into an amazing place.
There's a huge amount of various sculptures inside the plantation - you will mostly notice the Balinesse houses.
They reaped all these spices - so cool.
This is the Luwak coffee. They said Luwak coffee is the most expensive coffee in the world. Well, yes, it is! It is produced from a coffee bean which have been digested by Luwak - it is a small catlike animal.
I know what you are thinking right now. Hehehehe. Indeed, it is made of Luwak's poopy. There's no genuine crap there as Luwak gulp down it as a whole and don't worry, they ensure everything is clean.
The process is:
- they washed, cleaned and peeled it
- then washed it again
- roasted it for 1 hour in a firewood until it has turned to brown
- crushed it
- lastly, filtered it and tadaaa, the final product
You will see from the photo below where they roasted it.
After the tour, it's coffee and tea tasting time! Yey, my favorite part. LOL I enjoyed the Ginger coffee and Ginger tea. I loved how the Ginger tea soothed my throat and the Ginger coffee is a bomb - I loved how strong it is. The good thing about it is less caffeine because it is from Luwak's poopy and every last bit of it are organic.
Lastly, we went to the shop. I didn't buy anything since the price is so expensive, but believe me, it is worth it. Leave some comments below if you agree with me. Hope you like my blog entry today! Enjoy!
